Bankruptcy of Portus - Overview

On March 29, 2005, the court expanded the powers of the Receiver in the Receivership Proceedings. Please refer to the March 29, 2005 Court Order for further details.

On March 4, 2005, KPMG Inc. (KPMG) was appointed Receiver of all the 'assets' of Portus Alternative Asset Management Inc., Portus Asset Management Inc., and BancNote Corp. As Receiver, KPMG immediately took control of the assets and records of the Portus. For purposes of this web site, unless otherwise stated, we refer to all entities and assets subject to the Receivership orders as Portus.
